Overview:

Pembina Pipeline Corporation’s Calgary office is recruiting for Sr Advisor, Compensation. The successful incumbent will join the team reporting to the Director, Employee Experience Solutions Centre within the Human Resources Service Unit (HSU) part of Pembina’s Corporate Services Division. 

 

The Human Services Unit acts to create a differentiated experience for our employees so that we can deliver extraordinary energy solutions so the world can thrive. Functional areas within HSU include Human Resources Strategic Partnerships and Advisory, Culture, Inclusion & Leadership, Employee Experience Solutions Centre, and Human Resources Operations.  

 

The primary responsibilities will include providing Solutions Centre support for our Total Rewards program and several projects and initiatives underway. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player with comprehensive compensation experience and systems thinking mindset.
 

Responsibilities may include but not limited to:
  • Support Pembina’s safety culture of "Zero by Choice" and the “Life Saving Rules.” To read more about our Life Saving Rules, visit pembina.com/safety; 
  • Develop and implement compensation framework and programs that align with Pembina’s strategic objectives;
  • Collaborate with HSU leadership and stakeholders to understand requirements and design compensation plans that attract and retain talent;
  • Prepare and present compensation-related programs and recommendations to HSU and executive leadership;
  • Provide guidance and expertise to HSU and executive leadership on pay decisions, policy interpretation and job evaluations;
  • Develop and deliver training to Pembina’s employee base regarding compensation transparency;
  • Evaluate and make recommendations for Pembina’s Job Evaluation Framework;
  • Recommend design requirements for various pay regulations, projects, and initiatives in Canada and the US;
  • Plan Total Rewards structure for Cedar LNG (Pembina’s joint venture partnership with Haisla First Nation);
  • Lead and manage annual Compensation cycles;
  • Partner with HR Specialized Services to support HR Operations activities;
  • Collaborate with HRIS team to ensure system configuration supports design;
  • Support other various projects as needed; and 
  • Participate and support an equitable, diverse, and inclusive workplace.
     
Qualifications:
  • Post-secondary education in a relevant discipline (HR Management, Business, or another applicable curriculum) is an asset, or combined experience with 10+ years of relevant Compensation experience;
  • Certified Compensation Professional (CCP) designation is preferred;
  • Experience within the energy industry will be considered a strong asset;
  • Demonstrated project management skills with experience in implementing large enterprise change management; 
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trust, influence others and build relationships with people at all levels of an organization;
  • Confidence, executive presence, and consultative skills are required;
  • Capability to utilize design thinking methodologies implementing fit for purpose solutions;
  • Exceptional ability to facilitate and guide discussions or processes effectively;
  • Experience in HRIS and Compensation modules; SuccessFactors experience is preferred; and 
  • Self-starter with a demonstrated ability to multi-task and manage priorities in a dynamic, fast paced environment.
