About the OpportunityReporting to the Manager, Strategy, Performance & Analytics; the Sr. IE has primary
responsibility to Nova Scotia Health, to support the mission, vision and strategic directions by
researching, designing, developing and evaluating effective and efficient solutions to process and
system design challenges involving patients, physicians, staff, equipment, technology and
organizational structure that require analysis and service/process/system re-design.
Expertise in the performance improvement methodologies, project management and change management techniques
applied to solving complex problems is at the core of the Sr. IE’s role. The Sr. IE works in collaboration
and partnership with Zone Exec, Network and Program leadership in the development, management,
execution and evaluation of NSHA strategic initiatives as well as process improvement initiatives to
achieve the best outcomes in health care program and service delivery, safe care and continuous
improvement to meet or exceed all accreditation requirements.
We would love to hear from you if you have the following:
- Undergraduate Degree in Industrial Engineering from a recognized University required, Master's level preparation in Health Services Administration, Business Administration or a related program an asset
- Appropriate licensure/membership in professional organizations required
- Minimum 10 years experience in Industrial Engineering required
- Certified Health Executive is an asset
- Demonstrates a high level of Industrial Engineering technical expertise
- High level decision making and problem solving skills
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management, program planning, and strategic planning
- Comprehensive knowledge of system/process re-design methodologies
- Comprehensive knowledge of evaluation design and methodology
- Experience and demonstrated expertise in data management, data analysis, and statistical manipulation
- Knowledge of health care delivery systems in various hospital and community settings
- Understanding of the interrelationships of the health system in Nova Scotia
- Demonstrates excellent word processing, spreadsheet, relational database, visual management software, project management software and simulation modelling software skills
- Demonstrates excellent collaborative skills with executive level leadership.
- Demonstrates excellent team building and management of group processes skills
- Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, both in written and verbal forms
- Demonstrates a high level of initiative, patience, prioritization, and organizational ability skills
- Demonstrates accountability for own professional practice by complying with the Professional Engineers Cannon Act, Engineering Profession Act, Professional Engineering By-Laws, and NSH standards
- Competencies in other languages an asset, French preferred

$45.45 - $56.81 Hourly
