We’re looking for an Environmental Technician to join our Fredericton team 

Responsibilities:

Collect samples of soil, groundwater, surface water, sediment, air and other materials for environmental testing and analysis Operate and maintain sampling equipment and instruments Conduct field inspections and site assessments to identify potential environmental hazards or violations Monitor compliance with environmental regulations and permit requirements Analyze data and prepare technical reports detailing findings and recommendations Assist in the development and implementation of environmental management plans Participate in environmental remediation and mitigation projects Maintain accurate records and documentation of sampling activities and results Perform routine maintenance and calibration of monitoring equipment

Qualifications:

College Diploma in environmental technology, environmental science, or a related field Relevant experience in contaminated site assessment and remediation is preferred Knowledge of environmental regulations, sampling techniques, and analytical methods Proficiency in using field sampling equipment and laboratory instruments Strong analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent written and verbal communication abilities in English Attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records Proficient in using computer software for data analysis and report writing Ability to work outdoors and in varying environmental conditions Possession of a valid driver's license and a personal vehicle. Schedule flexibility, including overtime when required Willingness to travel to field sites within Eastern Canada

Preferred Skills:

Familiarity with hazardous waste handling and disposal procedures Knowledge of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) software Ability to interpret technical drawings Strong organizational and time management skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team
