We are looking for a Tax Manager - Corporate to join our client's team Ontario This is Primarily a REMOTE position. In this role, you will closely collaborate with outsourced tax service providers, ensuring the accurate and timely completion of all tax and information filings/remittances, as well as tax continuity schedules for our international legal entities. You will also contribute significantly to the establishment and development of future legal entities in alignment with growth plans and/or acquisitions.


Responsibilities:


• Assist in all aspects of taxation within the company, including strategic tax planning, financial reporting, and compliance.

• Prepare or review all assigned U.S. and foreign corporate income tax, indirect tax, and information returns.

• Oversee the preparation and review of tax returns for the company’s international subsidiaries.

• Lead the preparation of accounting for income taxes (ASC 740) in the US and international subsidiaries.

• Coordinate with outsourced tax service providers for the preparation of accounting for income taxes for international subsidiaries.

• Work closely with internal stakeholders to develop effective tax strategies to reduce the overall tax burden of the consolidated group of companies.

• Develop and maintain inter-company policies, financing arrangements, and timely settlement of obligations between subsidiaries.

• Oversee all R& D tax studies such as SR& ED (Canada) and R& D USA studies, filings/returns.

• Ensure the company's compliance with all indirect tax obligations such as payroll tax remittances and reconciliations; US Sales & Use tax; Global Value Added Taxes, etc.

• Respond to tax notifications from federal, state/provincial, and global tax authorities.

• Contribute to the management of outsourced tax professionals in foreign jurisdictions emphasizing performance, efficiency of deliverables, and cost management.

• Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, managing their performance and development.

• Provide tax assistance for the company’s quarterly and annual external audits.

• Implement tax planning strategies to assist the company in budgeting, planning, and managing its effective tax rate.

• Act as Tax Lead on all Legal Entity Rationalization, Intercompany transactions, and M& A activity.


Note: This role requires proficiency in 'Adobe Acrobat', 'ATX Tax Software', 'CCH ProSystem Fx', 'CCH Sales Tax', 'Compliance software', 'Accounting Functions', 'Annual Income Tax Provision', 'Auditing', 'Compliance', 'Documentation', 'Compliance Audit', and 'Tax - Corporate'.


• A minimum of 7 years of experience in a similar role such as Tax Manager or Tax Director
• Proficiency in Adobe Acrobat
• Experience with ATX Tax Software
• Familiarity with CCH ProSystem Fx and CCH Sales Tax
• Knowledge of compliance software
• Strong grasp of accounting functions
• Experience in annual income tax provision
• Expertise in auditing, compliance, and documentation
• Experience in conducting compliance audits
• Extensive knowledge of tax laws, specifically corporate tax
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work collaboratively with other departments and teams
• Demonstrated ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines
• Attention to detail and problem-solving skills
• A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field (Master's degree or CPA certification preferred)
