Description

:The exploration of artistic practices since the 1980s through a study of chosen issues. This course explores postmodernism through art and aesthetic theory. Postmodernism resists notions of autonomy, authority, totality, and transcendence. We will study the principles aesthetic philosophy such as narrative fragmentation, allegory, appropriation, kitsch, hybridity in the context of art. In order to do this, we will rely on art historians and philosophers such as Horkheimer and Adorno, Haraway, Gablik, Foucault, Lyotard and Jameson among others.
