What You’ll Do Here:

Provide a high level of safety, productivity and support to the line foreperson ensuring quality service. Interact and provide updates to Telecom Companies for the construction and maintenance of Fiber Optic and Copper Network. Ensure all materials associated with the construction of aerial plant for each project are ordered and available to complete the work issued. Access back yards or customer property to place cable using lashers. Installation of aerial fiber optic or copper cable using existing knowledge of all required pole hardware. Pull cable or strand by hand or with mechanical equipment. Ensure all safety signs, cones, barriers, etc. are in good shape and on the truck. Check timesheets and documentation to ensure accuracy of time reporting. Review monthly vehicle inspections and in-depth knowledge of CVOR requirements. Approach all customers in a courteous, professional manner ensuring deadlines are met. Apply due diligence in ensuring accuracy in preparation and prompt completion of all necessary documentation (surveys, timesheets, drawings, as-builds, billing, and toolbox talks). Be a positive team member through open communication and active participation in crew tasks. Participate in all Health and Safety efforts including daily tailboard talks with Aerial crews. Set up and work safely on high traffic roads according to Book 7 standards. Perform other duties as assigned.

What You Bring to the Team:

Experience using Line & Bucket trucks, climbing poles using spurs or ladders. Hands on experience with placing strand, tension requirements and all pole hardware. Experience placing poles, down guys, anchors, and vertical ground wires. Ability to read and request locates. Experience in interpreting communication design drawings. A strong commitment to safety. Ability to work independently or as a part of a crew to perform all types of Outside Plant aerial construction and maintenance/repair work. Strong work ethic, self-disciplined, motivated, and organized. Familiar with handling of fiber and copper cables. FTTH, copper, fiber experience is an asset. Valid Driver’s License, AZ or DZ a strong asset with a clean Driver’s Abstract. Physical strength and stamina, the ability to carry and climb a twenty-eight-foot extension ladder weighing 80 pounds. Work in all weather conditions, day, night, or weekends with possible overnight stays. Travel required.
