We are looking for a Housekeeping Supervisor to add to our team.

Nova Hotels operates two properties in Kindersley. This position may require flexibility around which property you work out of depending on the business needs of the hotels.

PRIMARY FUNCTIONS:

Reporting to the Housekeeping Manager, the Housekeeping Supervisor is a hands-on role, assisting the housekeeping department by maintaining a high standard of cleanliness for the hotel. Responsible for maximizing guest satisfaction and loyalty, by overseeing the cleanliness and overall appearance of the interior and exterior of the hotel, guest rooms and corridors. They are passionate about serving others and working as a team with associates from all This position is fulltime and includes days, evenings, weekends and holidays.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

The specific responsibilities of the Housekeeping Supervisor will vary depending on the needs of the properties. Specific responsibilities may include, but are not limited to the following areas:

  • Follows all established and future front office Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Accountable for the housekeeping department in the absence of Executive Housekeeper.
  • Ensures the highest standards of cleanliness in accordance with housekeeping Standard Operating Procedures and Key Deliverables.
  • Liaises with Front Office and Maintenance department in related tasks such as room status, VIP’s and room maintenance work requests.
  • Inspects and passes rooms in a timely, efficient manner. Updates the code status for the Front Office.
  • Assists with administration including inventory control, closing discrepancy report, daily arrival list.
  • Conducts daily walk throughs of the hotel. Notes any deficiencies and follows up as required.
  • Ensures arrivals are blocked and checked daily.
  • Secures keys in accordance with hotel’s key management policy.
  • Reports all performance concerns to supervisor.
  • Assists with training new associates according to standard.
  • Checks a minimum of 50 rooms to ensure Quality Standards are consistently met.
  • Ensures all associates are working safely on the floors.
  • Assists with monthly cleaning programs and lost/found items with policies, standards and procedures.
  • Participates in monthly communication meetings with housekeeping team.
  • Participates as part of the Health & Safety Committee for the property
  • Reports all concerns related to Maintenance, Health & Safety, Security or Suspicious circumstances (including smells/sights and sound) immediately.
  • Adheres to all Nova standards, including Hygiene and Grooming, Health and Safety, Fire Safety and Guest Interactions.
  • Other projects/duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

Education: High School diploma. Diploma in hospitality management is considered an asset.

Experience: 1-2 years’ experience in housekeeping, supervisory role considered an asset. Able to work well independently with little supervision.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment is a setting, which has the following conditions: low noise environment; high traffic area for internally and external guests, exposure to office equipment such as photocopier, fax and telephone, potential exposure to theft and/or belligerent guests.
