Location: Hazelton, BC

PWTransit is currently seeking a casual Para-Transit Driver to join our team in Hazelton. We offer competitive wages, ongoing training and development, and a family-oriented team environment.

Drivers are responsible for safely transporting passengers on a daily basis and must be committed to providing superior customer service. Commitment, patience, maturity, and initiative are all required qualities.

Rate of Pay: $28.50 per hour 

Position Requirements:

A valid Class 1 or 2 driver's license or Class 4 unrestricted driver's license Driver's abstract with no more than 3 demerit points Willingness to undergo drug and alcohol screening Clear criminal record Must be organized, punctual and reliable Possess excellent driving skills and habits Ability to read maps and navigate Ability to communicate effectively A good knowledge of the local area is a definite asset Willing to work shifts, including split shifts, weekends and statutory holidays as necessary (transit service may operate 6 days per week, 17 hours per day)

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Safely transport passengers on a number of assigned routes Courteously and professionally interact with customers, including loading mobility devices and escorting customers to and from curbside as required, answer inquiries on route, make general announcements to customers, collect correct fares, and ensure valid passes are presented, and arrange for passenger pick-up and drop-off as required Drive safely and responsibly and be prepared for all road and traffic conditions Provide superior customer service and assist with passenger questions/inquiries
