Job Functions
Ensure all electrical power needs for operations and the facility are in working order. Repair, install and troubleshoot CNC and other numerically controlled industrial machines Able to evaluate, prepare and execute personal preventative and predictive maintenance schedules Troubleshooting/repairing/installing of wood processing equipment with a working knowledge of PLC’s, VFD’s, Servos, electrical schematics, etc. to allow efficient repair/replacement Plan, organize & perform assigned tasks in sequence with minimum supervision & direction Identify and report hazards and fulfill all Health & Safety, WHMIS, MSDS, and company policy requirements Become an active participant & contributor to the continuous improvement process at Knoll Must be able to support and work at Metals facility as required (Located in Woodbridge) Must be able to handle a very fast-paced working environment Follow shop floor controls Ability to read and follow work instruction Perform required quality inspections Ability to work in a team environment Able to take the initiative to solve problems, where appropriate Must be willing to cross-train in various areas of the department as required Follow all Knoll safety policies and procedures Maintain a clean and safe working environment Participate and maintain 5S TPM and LOTO in the workplace Maintain and follow the ISO standard operating procedures Ability to work in a multi-shift environment including flexible hours and weekends Participate in and contribute to the continuous improvement processEducation Requirement
Licensed Industrial Electrician (Red Seal #442A), certified to work in Ontario High School diploma or equivalent Must be able to communicate in English (both oral and written)Experience requirement
Minimum 3-5 years of related experience Strong knowledge of electronic controls, pneumatics and hydraulics, and hands on experience with high speed machines required Be able to resolve electrical problems logically, demonstrate machine flow Experience in a manufacturing plant environment Working knowledge of a Computerized Maintenance Management System (Maximo preferred) Must be able to read and interpret blueprints, sketches, OEM manuals and related technical data Intermediate to advanced PLC, VFD, CNC and servo systems knowledge Knowledge of LOTO protocol-
