Job Summary and Requirements

AMENDMNET - Closing August 2, . This is a until –filled competition. Candidates are encouraged not to delay submitting their application as this posting can close at any time after 10 business days with 24-hours posted notice. This posting will be used to fill four auxiliary-on-call positions. An AOC position would be called in to cover approved, unexpected, and / OR immediate absences and there is No guarantee of hours.

Relocation to Dawson will not be provided for this position.

This job is based in the town of Dawson , in the beautiful Yukon .

This opportunity… (the roles and responsibilities of the position):

As a Cleaning Attendant in Dawson, a rural town in the Yukon, your duties will include floor care, general cleaning, sanitizing, clearing snow, identifying maintenance and safety concerns, and other related tasks. You'll also be responsible for maintaining government facilities and their surroundings according to department standards.

Essential Qualifications…. (what we’re looking for in your resume):

Experience performing light and heavy cleaning duties using janitorial equipment; and Experience performing minor maintenance in multi-use buildings

.

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Suitability (what candidates may be assessed on if selected for an interview):

Ability to adapt to changing priorities, Good organizational and problem-solving skills, Reliability, with a good work ethic, Good communication skills and ability to work in a team or individual environment; and Ability to recognize and address safety issues.

Eligibility List: 12 months – which may be used to fill similar positions in Dawson, Yukon.

Conditions of Employment

Obtain and maintain RCMP vulnerable sector check security clearance before hire; and WHMIS Certificate (to be obtained within 3 months of hire).

Job Requirements

Occasionally working outside in adverse weather conditions, Mandatory use of personal protective equipment; and Evening shifts.
