a) A part-time hourly appointment / one semester is for less than 9 hours in any one semester.
Qualifications
PhD in disability studies and/or a relevant field, completed or almost complete; University-level teaching experience using multiple modalities including accessibility practices in large lectures; An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered; Knowledge of disability/Deaf/mad studies as an expansive, intersectional field of study; familiarity with the multiple and diverse ways in which experiences of disability/Deafhood/madness shape leadership and activist practice; Expertise arising from lived experience and scholarly inquiry relevant to the course focus. Expertise in theoretical frameworks such as, but not limited to, Black disability studies, transnational disability studies, Southern disability studies, postcolonial theory and/or decolonizing methodologies; Skilled in and enthusiastic about teaching undergraduate students in an interdisciplinary/liberal arts classroom using critical pedagogy.
