HOURS OF WORK:  

Full-Time On Site; Indoor and Outdoor working conditions that may apply Weekdays and on call for some weekends Some travel within the Region and travel to District sites regularly

RATE OF PAY: $45,000 to $55,000

EFFECTIVE: 24 Jun 24

JOB SUMMARY :
To work in conjunction with the District Manager in overseeing the operations and administration of the Quinte District. Direct Supervisor for unassigned spare guards, commercial guards and additional support for Site Supervisors throughout district. Supervise and support Scheduler, Support District Manager and Director of Operations as well as Kingston Regional Staff.

This position is not conducive to working from home or away from the office.

REQUIRED SECURITY CLEARANCE:

Level II – Secret (requires 10 years minimum Canadian residency)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

must represent the Commissionaires and the client professionally at all times including personal conduct, dress, and appearance, must read, remain current with, and follow all Commissionaires policies, Terms & Conditions must read, remain current with, maintain, and follow all client & site SOPs/post instructions, must negotiate short term contracts with clients, District Manager and Director of Business Development must organize and participate in career events along with Human Resources and/or Enrollments personnel must work with Quinte District Manager and Human Resources in the interview process to select commissionaires and fill staffing requirements for all contracts in the district. Assisting District Manager with interviews of potential new hires and internal applicants for positions as needed must ensure contractual requirements for staffing are met and communicate any shortfall in staffing to the District Manager and engage with the client as required must field calls from commissionaires (Unassigned spares, Site Supervisors, clients, and regional office staff) must conduct site visits, delivering equipment, picking up guard and incident reports, site kits, uniforms and distributing Service Awards must complete ISO compliance checks (Uniform standards etc.) and address any concerns from guards. Must provide leadership and support to supervisors and arrange for lone worker call-ins must generate probationary and annual assessments for all spares who have completed necessary probation hours and ensure commercial site supervisors generate probation and annual assessments as required. Ensure annuals and passed and failed probation assessments are forwarded to Operations must generate positive performance reports must prepare, revise, and submit a current list of guards for after-hours call out and contact for work to the SOC as required. Must ensure scheduling software is up to date with employee information must coordinate and assist in the preparation of Client SOPS and ensure site kits are created for pick up must perform CPIC and CRJMC checks for newly enrolled guards, or guards needing to renew security guard licenses and assist guards with their security guard license renewals online to expedite the renewal process must check in with Scheduler to aid and ensure all available shifts have been covered as needed. Regularly review Sling to ensure the Site schedules are up to date and there is no unauthorized overtime and review all Commercial site supervisor’s timesheets as they are sent into payroll must be knowledgeable with scheduling software and perform scheduling duties and assist as the back up to the district scheduler in preparing schedules and timesheets must complete all day-to-day administration functions for the district, including assessments for all employees are completed at the end of probation and annually must ensure WSCF’s, LOAs and other personnel admin is completed promptly must ensure first aid certificates and receipts for all guards in district are submitted for reimbursement as well as ensure security guard licenses are up to date must sign Security Clearances for guards as the appointed ‘ACSO’ and complete Notary duties as the appointed ‘Commissioner of Oaths’ must schedule appointments (Scheduler typically books the appointments for fingerprinting unless they are absent) for fingerprinting and Conduct fingerprints (when necessary if Scheduler is unavailable or absent) must act as Commissioner of Oaths / notary and complete affidavits for commissioning documents must complete any reports required and requested by Director of Operations and provide to District Manager for review and submission. Forward any/all completed documents and information to respected department for processing must coordinate WSIB leaves with commissionaire and/or Site Supervisors and help in completion of WSIB reporting forms. Informing Health and Safety of any WSIB claims must record any/all shift refusals and compliance issues must maintain all local copies of guard and client, records in secure filing systems must maintain district vehicle and forward any repairs and receipts to the SOCM must conduct progressive discipline of guards such as verbal and written warnings in coordination with the Quinte District Supervisor must attend all scheduled virtual or in person meetings must create and implement operational plans for contracted major events must investigate all public or client complaints received regarding district employees must assist and advise District Manager with union matters must share on call responsibility with the district staff for after hours business calls on a rotating basis must assume the District Managers duties and responsibilities in the absence of the district manager and report to the director of operations must complete reliability and Secret clearances for employees as needed must participate in any and all internal training and continuing education deemed necessary by the Director of Operations and or District Manager must perform other duties as assigned by District Manager and/or Director of Operations
