This is an opportunity for you to become part of a dynamic nutrition team in the city of Medicine Hat. Medicine Hat is located in southern Alberta and is one of Canada's sunniest cites, experiencing warm summers and mild winters. Residents enjoy plenty of choice in goods, services, and activities within 10 or 15 minutes of most residential neighborhoods. An all-year playground, Medicine Hat boasts seven golf courses, over 90 kilometers of paved recreational trails, 100 parks, four water play parks, and the 20-story high Saamis Teepee – the largest tepee in the world. The Dietitian I position is a front-line professional position within Nutrition Services reporting to the manager of Nutrition Services, South Zone. In this position, you will be responsible for assessing, developing, implementing and evaluating nutrition care plans for acute care, home care and supportive living patients in the city of Medicine Hat. This position also provides coverage of home care and supportive living community patients in Brooks, AB. You will have the opportunity to work as part of a multidisciplinary team in the community and acute care settings in these communities to achieve nutrition and health outcomes using a patient focused approach.

Description:

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).

Additional Required Qualifications:

Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
