Job Overview: 

We are seeking a Service Writer to join our team and play a vital role in ensuring smooth operations in our service department. The Service Writer will act as a liaison between customers and our service technicians, providing excellent customer service and maintaining accurate records. 

Key Responsibilities:

Customer Interaction:  Greet and assist customers when they arrive for service. Listen to customer concerns, document vehicle issues, and provide clear explanations of the service process. Provide estimated service costs and obtain customer approval. Service Scheduling:  Schedule service appointments and ensure efficient allocation of resources. Maintain a well-organized service appointment calendar. Coordinate with service technicians to prioritize work orders.  Service Documentation:  Create and maintain accurate service orders and repair estimates. Document service recommendations and obtain customer approvals.Ensure all paperwork is complete and organized by efficient service execution. Communication & Follow-Ups:  Keep customers informed of the status of their service and any changes in the estimated completion time.Communicate with customers about additional service recommendations. Follow up with customers after service to ensure satisfaction.  Technical Knowledge:  Develop a basic understanding of automotive terminology and repair processes. Collaborate with service technicians to accurately relay technical information to customers. 

Desired Qualifications & Traits: 

High school diploma or equivalent.  Proven experience in a customer service or service writer role is an asset.  Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.  Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  Proficiency in using service scheduling and management software.  Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks.  Problem-solving abilities and a customer-focused approach.
