Your Opportunity:

As a Dietitian working primarily in enhanced care LTC and designated supportive living, you will be applying your nutrition expertise to complete nutrition assessments and develop nutrition interventions appropriate for seniors living with complex dementia and various health conditions. As an integral member of a dynamic multidisciplinary team, you will be collaborating and communicating with all team members including nursing, allied health, geriatric physicians, and psychiatrists. This position requires excellent problem-solving skills and creativity to manage a variety of nutrition related concerns including malnutrition, chronic disease management and complex behaviours affecting nutrition status while working closely with families and caregivers for quality-of-life considerations. As part of this position, you will be required to provide additional coverage to other areas including home care, general outpatients and chronic disease management. Description:

As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
