Associates fulfil key leadership roles at Entuitive. The degree to which an individual contributes to, leads or proactively drives a portion of the business defines the role of Associate.

 All Associates act as subject matter experts in engineering technologies, methods and practices by keeping current with emerging trends and market shifts in order to recommend and implement best practices and client-centric solutions. This role will typically oversee and manage a team either on a project or within a department by taking a hands-on approach and by providing guidance to ensure a high level of project delivery and service. The role will actively promote Entuitive services across all networks within the industry and communities in which we work. The Associate will ensure all work is carried out in full support of our Vision, Mission, Values and One Company culture. To be an Associate at Entuitive one must contribute in no less than two of the core areas of our business as defined below and work to maintain a high standard across these areas.

What will you do?

Leadership & Mentoring

  • Provides day-to-day guidance to teams ensuring to foster a collaborative environment where knowledge is shared and creative solutions are supported.
  • Responsible for developing staff through mentoring and providing ongoing feedback along with conducting the annual review process to grow the future leaders of the firm.
  • Participates in corporate leadership by contributing to the structural engineering service strategy and internal committees (Technical, BD+Marketing, Production Management, QC, etc.)

Business Development & Client Relations

  • Provides creative and technical input into proposal development working closely with the marketing team to clearly demonstrate Entuitive’s capabilities.
  • Focusses on maintaining existing client relations by ensuring issues are resolved in a timely manner and services offered exceeds our clients’ expectations in terms of quality.
  • Work winning is a part of the Associate role.

Technical Delivery

  • Provides technical expertise to other engineers ensuring a high level of engineering by conducting technical reviews and instilling adherence to QA through established guidelines and best practices.
  • Engage and implement Quality Control measures and activities supporting a continuous improvement mind set and a commitment to delivering quality work.
  • Investigate and promote the use of advanced methods, techniques, technology or processes within project teams and throughout the firm.
  • Delivers preliminary and detailed designs as required and oversees mark ups and the coordination of specifications, and terms of reference complying with relevant codes and standards.
  • Responsible for signing and sealing drawings as needed ensuring a high level of professional integrity and a commitment to high quality standards.

Project Management

  • Responsible for effective project management including managing project budgets using the appropriate cost control methods, and ensuring scheduling and resourcing plans meet the needs of project deliverables.
  • Responsible for client correspondence and communication including fee letters and status reports, ensuring the client and stakeholders are kept abreast of issues and resolutions are timely and well managed.
  • Associates fulfill the role of a project engineer or project principal on multiple projects depending on the size and complexity of the projects.

Requirements

What do you need to succeed?

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in civil engineering (with a focus in structural), or architecture, accompanied by a P.Eng. licensed to practice in Alberta, licenses in other locations considered and asset.
  • A minimum of 10 years progressive experience with a proven track record of delivering complex and sophisticated structural engineering projects related to industrial or municipal infrastructure.
  • Knowledgeable of local market conditions, emerging trends, and opportunities.
  • Strong business acumen, contract negotiation skills, and the ability to exercise sound judgment.
  • Proven ability to build relationships and develop networks.
  • Superior knowledge of construction processes and building materials related to new construction projects as well as the restoration of existing buildings.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written) and the ability to manage complex situations with multiple stakeholders utilizing conflict resolution skills.
  • Strong project management skills with ability to manage scope, schedule and budget within a large project team.
  • Demonstrated analytical, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Proven client service capability along with the experience to effectively manage multiple teams simultaneously.
  • Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a fast-paced environment while juggling competing priorities.
  • Knowledge and interest related to embodied carbon is considered an asset
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle.
  • Access to a passport and desire to travel for work is an asset.
