As a Diesel Mechanic - Experienced (Service Tech IV), you’ll use your skills to perform maintenance and repairs of complex equipment with limited or no supervision in a highly skilled, safe, and professional manner. What you'll do:

Maintenance and repair of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and diesel systems on a variety of rental and customer equipment and tools while using a high degree of independent judgment

When required, travel to customer job sites for repair/maintenance of rental or customer owned equipment; must maintain service vehicle in a clean and professional manner

Assist in the training of lower level technicians as needed

Maintain paperwork/electronic documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily basis

Assist with pick-up and delivery of equipment & parts

Other duties assigned as needed

Requirements:

High School diploma or equivalent

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record

5+ years of experience repairing/maintaining equipment and tools

Advanced mechanical aptitude and working knowledge of tools

Extensive knowledge of construction equipment with an advanced understanding of schematics and diagrams

Must own tools applicable to position

Superior customer service, teamwork and verbal/written communication skills

Ability to frequently lift items up to 45 lbs.

This position is deemed Safety Sensitive for purposes of United Rentals’ policies and procedures.

Voici d’ailleurs quelques-unes des tâches supplémentaires :

Assurer l’entretien et la réparation de systèmes mécaniques, électriques, hydrauliques et diesel complexes sur une vaste gamme d’outils et d’équipements de location ou de clients, tout en faisant preuve d’une grande indépendance de jugement.

Au besoin, se rendre sur le lieu de travail du client pour réparer ou entretenir son matériel ou celui qu’il a loué (vous serez chargé de veiller à la propreté et au caractère présentable du véhicule de service).

Participer à la formation des techniciens subalternes, au besoin.

Tenir à jour la documentation écrite ou électronique associée aux travaux effectués (bons de travail) de manière exhaustive chaque jour dans les délais prescrits.

Participer au ramassage et à la livraison des équipements et des pièces.

Réaliser les autres tâches demandées en fonction des besoins.

Exigences du poste :

Diplôme d’études secondaires ou équivalent.

Permis de conduire valide assorti d’un dossier de conduite jugé acceptable.

Expérience de plus de cinq ans en réparation ou en entretien d’équipements et d’outils.

Compétences avancées en mécanique et connaissance pratique des outils.

Connaissance approfondie des équipements de construction et compréhension avancée des schémas et des diagrammes.

Possession des outils applicables au poste obligatoire.

Service à la clientèle de qualité supérieure, esprit d’équipe et capacité à communiquer aussi bien à l’oral qu’à l’écrit.

Capacité à soulever fréquemment des objets pouvant peser jusqu’à 20 kg (45 lb).
