DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reporting to the Manager of Diagnostic Imaging, the Radiology Assistant will be responsible for:
Scheduling CT, Mammography, IR and Ultrasound appointments, entering patient orders accurately in the hospital information system, preparing information for Radiologists, confirming registration information upon arrival of patients; providing direct patient care by assisting Technologist in transporting patients to and from nursing units to the DI department, moving patients on and off the table and use patient lifts; organizing the patient preparation to avoid undue delays in examinations; assisting the Technologist process patient data and maintain patient safety and ensure a positive patient experience; and other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
*Medical Office Administration Diploma or equivalent combination of education and experience;
*Proven related knowledge and experience in Diagnostic Imaging or related environment;
*Knowledge of medical terminology (tested);
*Proven Epic experience in admissions, order entry modules, and scheduling;
*Proven good keyboarding skills of 30-40 wpm (tested);
*Proven ability to work under pressure, exercise independent judgement and organize patient flow through the department;
*Demonstrated ability to assess requests and prioritize them to ensure prompt patient care;
*Effective communication and interpersonal skills;
*Physically capable of walking, pushing, transporting patients and assisting in positioning of patient, lifting, bending, and reaching to accomplish tasks;
*Proven competency with Microsoft Office programs (Word and Excel) tested;

*Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to Lakeridge Health's comprehensive safety programs and practices including staff, patient and environmental safety and participation in regular in-service in this area;
CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT:
The terms and conditions of employment are in accordance with the Collective Agreement between the Hospital and C.U.P.E Local 6364.
Successful External applicants must provide a satisfactory Criminal Investigation Reference for the vulnerable sector, dated within the past six (6) months.
