SUMMARY
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor and as part of the Maintenance Team the incumbent will be responsible for the effective operation and maintenance of the facility with emphasis on patching painting and planned maintenance. 

KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The painter executes:

The preparation and conditioning work inside and outside of any construction and their coating with one or more layers of film-forming compounds for protection and embellishment. The coating of wall surfaces with wallpaper or any other similar material, natural or synthetic, pre-glued or glued. Other work involving the fitting of reinforcements, iron corners and accessories, and the filling of joints in wall planks

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

WHMIS Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) certification Interprovincial Standards, Painter Decorator, Blue Seal certification Trained in Fall Protection and aerial platform Commercial and Industrial Safety FLHA/JSA  Current knowledge of building and safety codes for both exterior and interior work Good colour sense Ability to work at heights Ability to move heavy ladders and industrial equipment at the work site A desire to do a precise and thorough job
