This is a new position that will encompass three major responsibilities;
the Early Childhood programs as required under the CCEYA, for the Jardin d’éveil and PK classes at the Toronto and West Campus.
the student life programs for La P’tite école
the co-curricular programs for both the P’tite école and the Junior School
Reporting to the branch Principal, Dean of Students and Early childhood education Programs will focus on developing and promoting programs which enhance a safe and nurturing environment for the younger students at TFS. While collaborating with colleagues and community service providers the Dean of Students and Early childhood education Programs will establish administrative procedures and policy development to meet regulatory requirements, ensuring compliance under the CCEYA. Working closely with the School Leadership, this role will provide training to employees in the early childhood units, to ensure program compliance.
The person will be organizing events, coordinating with management and teachers, and planning various activities like assemblies, multicultural celebrations, and school events.
Main duties
Supervise "Jardin d'eveil" (daycare) staff and educators to comply with the Child Care and Early Years Act - CCEY A.
Fulfill all requirements of the Child Care and Early Years Act - CCEYA for the "Jardin d'eveil" (daycare) and small section (PK) in terms of policies and procedures.
Maintain an environment that protects the health, security and well-being of children with all educators
Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with co-workers and community service providers working with children
Establish administrative procedures to meet requirements set by the Ministry of Education, Public Health or others and participate in policy developments
Will assist in providing training for ECE and assistants and reviewing of report cards
Work in collaboration with VP and Principal.
Attend CCEYA meetings as required
Ensure that the program achieves and maintains compliance with the requirements set out under the CCEYA.
Ensure that the proposed framework complies with the requirements established by OneKey Service Canada.

Student Life:
Organize and coordinate events. Collaborate and communicate with the management and teachers.
Co-planning of assemblies and activities for little citizens
In collaboration with the principal and vice principal, ensure transversality and horizontal and vertical alignment between the 2 branches in what is proposed, aiming for initiatives to encourage engagement, a sense of belonging, and pride within our school community.
International Weeks/ Activities related to them
In collaboration with the principal and vice principal (PA and staff part of the committee), prepare presentations for students and assemblies related to these weeks (initiate opportunities for a balanced education that promotes a variety of learning events and personal development experiences).
Assist in organizing and participating in these activities
Multicultural Celebrations
Find and set up resources: a small museum and presentations to be projected on the school screens.
Collaborate with the management for celebrations (Diwali, Hanukkah, Chinese New Year, Persian New Year, etc.).
Planning school events
Tie ceremony / Terry Fox / Halloween / Valentine's Day / Winter Carnival / International Week Carnival / CP Graduation / Concerts / International Weeks / Orientation / Open House Days / Luxembourg Garden / French Week / Guinguette / Spring of poets / Fun Days / Evaluation Days.
Review how the sense of belonging to houses can be revived.
Coordinate G1/G2 transition activities
In collaboration with grade coordinators and the management team, review expectations and improve the process for our students and families.
Coordinate activities with the primary school

Recess (organize games during lunch)
Talent show (during Open House)
Coordinate activities with the secondary school
Setting up clubs during lunch periods: games, stories
Setting up clubs with the SS committee: Black excellence (DEIJ)
School trips and outings
Seek and present possibilities for school outings related to research projects but also our mission for younger students.
Assist in organizing holidays (winter).
Develop and implement opportunities for Ambassadors (CP students)
For Open House (questions/answers)
Stories for younger students (Winter Break)
Participate and intervene during assemblies
Other
Organize weekly mentoring sessions (planning, preparation)
Planning and preparation of assemblies
Planning and organization of house activities, "Associations" activities
Assist in general organization / Calendar

Co-curricular:
Safety and security, Inspecting the buildings to make sure it is safe
Coordinating and organizing co-curricular activities, extra-curricular (i.e. intra-Muros) and childcare.
Organizing the House System : Student placement in houses, House T-Shirts (Students and Teachers).
Who we are looking for

Completion of a program in early childhood education Or a bachelor's degree in child development is required in addition to a Diploma in Education
An ECE Leadership and Administration Certificate or educational credential for the Supervisor ECE designation would be a definite asset.
Registration with the Ontario College of ECE is an asset
2+ years of experience working in a childcare as ECE and as a supervisor is required.
Valid standard first aid/ CPR certification as per CCEYA requirements
Valid Food Handler’s certificate
A clear health and vulnerable sector check is necessary prior to employment.
A genuine love and commitment to their profession and work with young children
Possess excellent professional and best practice skills with colleagues and families.
Have good understanding of CCEYA,
Bilingual (French must be excellent)
Effective leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills
