Wilco Contractors Northwest Inc. (Wilco) is a leading organization within the Whimase Group of Companies, showcasing decades of experience in various aspects of contracting including park construction, environmental works, and civil earthworks.

We are currently seeking an IT Generalist to join our dynamic team. This role is crucial in supporting our operations with reliable IT infrastructure and solutions. As an IT Generalist, you will work closely with all departments to ensure the efficiency of all technology systems and services.

The ideal candidate will be adaptable, possess a strong technical aptitude, and be able to troubleshoot various IT issues ranging from hardware to software. This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual looking to grow their career in a supportive environment. This is a full-time position located at our main office in Edmonton.

Key Responsibilities:

    • Maintain and support IT infrastructure including servers, networks, and telecommunications systems.
    • Provide helpdesk support for end users and troubleshoot hardware and software issues.
    • Assist in the implementation of new technology solutions and upgrades.
    • Manage user accounts, permissions, and security protocols.
    • Maintain inventory of IT equipment and software licenses.
    • Document procedures, technical specifications, and user manuals.
    • Collaborate with various departments to understand their IT needs and provide solutions.
    • Ensure compliance with company standards and policies in all technology-related activities.

Requirements

    • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years of experience in IT Support or similar role.
    • Proficient in Windows and Linux operating systems.
    • Strong knowledge of networking concepts and protocols.
    • Experience with hardware troubleshooting and repair.
    • Familiarity with cloud services and software deployment.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
    • A valid driver’s license is preferred.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
