Bookkeeper

For this position, responsibilities will vary but will include:
- Completion of full-cycle bookkeeping including preparation of GST, PST, WCB returns;
- Interaction with clients to gather necessary documents for bookkeeping and various types of tax returns;
- Assisting other staff members on various tasks including office admin tasks as on needed basis; and
- Working closely with the senior accountants assist clients with their bookkeeping needs.
In this close-knit office setting, you’ll have the opportunity to build strong, ongoing relationships with clients, often serving as their primary point of contact.
Requirements
- 3 or more years senior bookkeeping and/or accounting experience, preferably in a public practice environment is required;
- Proficiency in accounting software and tools such as Sage, QuickBooks, CaseWare and Profile;
- Strong computer literacy including MS Office Suite; exceptional Excel skills;
- Excellent communication skills and problem-solving abilities;
- The ability to handle data with confidentiality and integrity;
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks effectively;
- Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and analytical thinking;
- The ability to thrive in a team-based environment, although you are self-motivated and able to function autonomously;
- “Can-do”, positive disposition; someone who takes pride in a job well done is perfect for this role
In addition to a robust benefits package, the salary for this position is anticipated to be $28-$32/hour and will be determined based on experience and qualifications.
