Vice Convenor for GTA Jamat Khana

About the Program

The Ismaili Tariqah and Religious Education Board (ITREB) is responsible for implementing a comprehensive curriculum of religious education to the Jamat. Including an understanding of the essential principles of the Shia Imami Ismaili Tariqah of Islam within the broader context of Islam. The Literature Counter is one of the resources for our Jamati members to select and purchase material for increasing their knowledge of our faith. Books from the IIS and other approved authors will serve this purpose to enhance the knowledge base of the Jamat.

About the Role

The Vice Convenor will: Oversee weekly Literature Counter operations, provide leadership, manage and operate all aspects of the Literature system (Inventory, Sales, Reporting, Record Keeping, Regular Audits and Banking).  Work closely with Convenor on inventory management and sales.  Follow through on directions from Convenor on book launches, and book fairs especially around Khushali times and Spring time. Place orders and follow up on shipments from the warehouse. Be required to travel to various Jamat Khana Literature Counters in the GTA under the NEO region to provide an accurate update of all Literature Counters to Convenor.  Put in place and manage a group of Team Leads with the Convenor to further assist the Vice Convenor in Literature counter operations.

About You

Skills and Competencies:  committed devotion to the Literature Counter.  Proactive in finding risks and analyzing inventory. Attention to detail.  Good communication, organization and leadership skills. Excellent team player  Ability to delegate tasks and hold team accountable.  Be able to travel with-in East GTA Jamat Khanas.
