The Pioneer Sales Agronomist will target sales activities to key accounts to build relationships and drive adoption of Pioneer® brand products through direct grower contact supporting Corteva portfolio and on farm agronomic and business decisions. Develop and provide agronomic and product education/training to the field sales force that supports the sales and service of Pioneer products. Work with the Technical Services Manager and Product Agronomist to conduct Commercial Unit, and regional agronomy field trials that improve the product management and/or product positioning of Pioneer seed products. Partner with Product Agronomists, Territory Managers and Sales Reps to create and deliver product information which improves the productivity and profitability of Pioneer customers. Serve as primary agronomic resource to Territory managers to resolve difficult customer concerns. What You’ll Do: Technical Sales (60%) Educate and empower our Pioneer agency network to deliver a best-in-class grower experience rooted in sound agronomic advice and optimized product management.Support territory sales targets through direct grower sales calls supporting Corteva complete portfolio.Coach effective relationship-building, sales tactics, and value-added negotiations through on-farm sales calls with Pioneer Agents for both existing customers and prospects.Coordinate the development and delivery of product management information to assigned territories that differentiates Pioneer seed products and drives sales.Support onboarding and agronomic development of high-quality, professional sellers to deliver a differentiated customer experience and sustained market share growth.Maintain a thorough agronomic and technical knowledge of Pioneer products and services.Leverage the complete Corteva portfolio, including seed, seed treatment, crop protection, biologicals and more to deliver a comprehensive and differentiated offering.Anticipate market opportunities and threats, and position your sales team to react, adapt and overcome. Agronomy Training (20%) Provide structured product management training to sellers that enables them to improve Pioneer seed experience with growers.Coach field sales employees on customer service call best practices. Provide timely agronomic information to the field sales team to support the sales effort. Provide agronomic content for technical and marketing communications for both internal and external audiences (Walking Your Fields, Field Facts and Crop Focus, web, mobile, etc…)Support livestock forages and inoculant insights to key customers and Pioneer agents. Agronomy Coordination (20%) Collaborate with Technical Services Manager and Product Agronomist to coordinate and execute agronomy trials that can be used to support product management, product positioning, and field sales training.Coordinate information/notes and observations related to the performance and management of Pioneer brand seed products including Product Knowledge Plot (PKP) programs.

Qualifications

Education: B.S. Agriculture/Agronomy/Business/Marketing or related field preferred. What Skills You Need: Five to seven years agronomy experience and proven abilities Demonstrated Knowledge of: Crop production/cultural practices.Pioneer offerings and competitive agronomy/product/service offerings; local Ag markets; value chain and production practicesSelling & marketing tools and techniquesEnvironmental, regulatory, and stewardship issues of Pioneer and competitive products at the local/regional level.Company policies and procedures. Demonstrated skills in: Teaching/training and presenting product related content.Working knowledge of field experimentation methodsObserving, analyzing, summarizing, and communicating agronomic/product trial results and informationConflict resolution and handling objections.Using computer hardware and software to generate reports, access, and communicate Pioneer information and complete administrative duties. Demonstrated ability to: Communicate and transfer knowledge both verbally and written.Build/maintain strong relationships with customers, key industry/market influencers, Pioneer & Corteva partners/teammates.Work effectively within a team environment.Lead and influence projects and coach individuals in accomplishing defined objectives/goals.Understands the needs and values of partners and customers and develop solutions to satisfy/retain.Get results by taking initiative, overcoming obstacles & finding creative solutions.Work independently with minimum supervision and operate within budget.Work in and adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
