Job Description

1.0 Position Summary:

A Machine Operator is responsible for completing a variety of trimming or assembly tasks, operating machines and hand tools. The Machine Operator is accountable for ensuring consistent, high quality completion of the varying tasks.

2.0 Primary Responsibilities & Duties:

Adhere to allocations set out by Production SupervisorCommunicate with previous shift Machine Operators to ensure continuity of tasks, process and scheduleDaily operation of tools and machines as requiredManually trim shower bases and walls to specificationsApply adhesive to tub shells as required by specification Sand, drill and level bases or tubs as requiredPerform quality inspections and complete work orders and signTransport products from floor to trim table and packing stationEnsures machinery is operated in a safe and efficient mannerOther duties as required

3.0 Health & Safety:

Maintain a safe workplaceWear Personal Protective equipment as required on the shop floorComply with the company policies, procedures, and OHSA (Occupational Health & Safety Act)Participation is required in our internal responsibility system (right to know, right to refuse, right to participate)Follow safe work and lockout / tagout procedures as requiredReport unsafe conditions or hazards as soon as possible to your supervisorMaintain a clean working environmentAdhere to and maintain WHMIS 2015 requirementsAnnual medical surveillance may be required

4.0 Compliance

Ensure compliance with the Masco Canada Product Compliance Management System

5.0 Quality:

Follow all area work instructions and procedures in order to ensure quality standards are adhered toReport any potentially defective or damaged products or packaging to the quality dept, Lead Hand and your SupervisorFollow the control of non-conforming product procedure for any defective products found in your area

6.0 Autonomous Maintenance:

NA

7.0 5S:

Ensure your work area is maintained at required daily 5S standardsCorrect any deviations from 5S standards immediately

8.0 Daily Management:

NA

9.0 Standard Work:

10.0 Qualifications:

Ability to follow work instructionsAbility to use JDE systemAbility to pull, push, bend and liftAbility to safely operate a variety of machineryAbility to comprehend the English languageAbility to work well in a team environment

11.0 Educational Requirements:

O.S.S.D or equivalentSuccessful completion of all tests related to the position

12.0 Additional Skills / Knowledge Requirements / Other:

Complies with all company policies and proceduresPerforms other tasks as assigned by management
