SALARY RANGE
$23.48 - $29.40 per hour

SUMMARY:
The principal and customary work of the employee in this employment class consists in conceiving and carrying out various technical and artistic projects in the areas of applied and graphic arts, editing and multimedia and in giving technical assistance to the personnel and users. The employee is also involved in taking photographs at College events, of graduating students, and in video production for academic and/or promotion purposes.

DUTIES

The employee in this employment class designs and carries out the college’s graphic work, participates in the development of graphic standards of the corporate name and sees to their applications. In the field of desktop publishing and multimedia and in keeping with the pertinent techniques in the field, the employee in this employment class prepares the college’s organizational and promotional documents, such as articles, information bulletins, brochures, advertising materials, circulars, reports, hypermedia documents and multimedia presentation and ensures their update. As a back-up, he/she updates the college’s Website, modifies its appearance, adds or removes components, and creates pertinent hypertext links. He/she applies the Website management and graphic development guidelines defined by the College. He/she provides support to the departments and services for the purposes of introducing or amending site content as well as advise on the aspects related to the graphic presentation and animation of the site. He/she is called upon to participate in the staging of various organizational or promotional events and projects with respect to the planning, physical arrangements, photography and follow-up of the activities. He/she may also be called upon to coordinate the work of support personnel involved in technical operations or programs for which he/she is responsible and to train less experienced personnel. If need be, he/she performs any other related tasks.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Diploma of collegial studies in the appropriate specialty or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority. Fluency in English is essential and functional French is required. Must possess very good knowledge of graphic design software (Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and in Design). Excellent knowledge of Web development software (HTML, XML and Dreamweaver). Excellent knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite. Excellent knowledge of video and audio editing software. Must possess a good knowledge and experience working with social media and other online tools. Must have experience in videography, still photography, audio recording and editing, and graphical art design. Knowledge of JavaScript and Action Script would be an asset.

Must possess excellent communication, organizational and interpersonal skills. Must have excellent analytical and problem solving skills. Must be diligent, dynamic, creative and detail oriented. Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision, and have the ability to work as part of a team. Must be able to work effectively with respect to deadlines and produce accurate results. Must be flexible and able to adapt quickly to different situations. Must have excellent customer service skills. Must have a strong worth ethic and exercise discretion.
