Job Function:
Work within the Corporate Real Estate groups to execute the successful completion of large capital and OM&A projects pertaining to the development and/or improvement of owned and leased administrative and service-related facilities. Participate in the interface with internal business units/clients to define financial and operational requirements and develop strategies to meet defined corporate objectives. 

 

General Accountabilities:

  • Coordinate in the implementation of Workplace and Capital Projects Program with a focus on the financial administration at a program and project levels. Assist in developing the program and project reporting on variances, cashflows and forecasts.
  • Coordinate in the implementation of major capital facility projects with a focus on project administration and change management 
  • Coordinate in the implementation of Workplace and Capital Programs with a focus on long term Capital Planning and monitoring for in year and future year projects.
  • Assist in the implementation and delivery of the Capital Program for the execution of capital repair, accommodations, and new build projects.
  • Assist in identifying and recommending opportunities for cost, schedule, and operational benefits.
  • Assist in the development of policies, strategies, standards for Facilities and related programs of Transmission Stations and Lines, Distribution Stations and Lines, Business IT, and other corporate functions.
  • Assist in developing and implementing project management processes.
  • Assist in the development of schedules consistent with approved project deliverables. Report variances to budgets and schedules and recommend corrective action.
  • Assist the Supervisor to coordinate with clients, Business Unit support functions, service providers and approval authorities to align project objectives, deliverables and communicating outcomes.
  • Assist Supervisor and team members in monitoring service providers and awarded contracts construction contract to ensure adherence to terms and conditions, as requested. Report deficiencies or contraventions, identify corrective actions, implement and where necessary include the input, control, or guidance of others.
  • Assist in the implementation of Occupational Health & Safety Act, and corporate health, safety and environmental requirements are understood and adhered. Report deficiencies or contraventions, identify corrective actions, implement and where necessary include the input, control, or guidance of others.
  • Participate and provide input and/or support to other Facilities & Real Estate work programs and initiatives, as directed by Supervisor.
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Selection Criteria:

Education:

  • Requires a knowledge of accounting, financial, project management, and or engineering and or  architectural principles in the development and execution of programs and projects.  
  • Requires a knowledge of computer technology and systems to prepare and report variances to budgets and schedules (such as excel, Power BI, Fieldglass, PMWeb, SAP, Microsoft Project, and Microsoft Visio).
  • Requires a good knowledge of English to communicate effectively with others and prepare technical/cost reports.
  • This knowledge is normally acquired through the completion of 4 years of university training in accounting, business administration, architecture and or engineering.


Experience:

  • Requires experience in general accounting, financial tracking and monitoring at both a program and project level, project management, design and construction related to industrial, commercial, and institutional facility programs and projects.
  • Requires experience financial coordinating large programs of work in short timeframes with various team members, internal and external stakeholders. 
  • Requires significant experience in communicating and collaborating with internal and external groups in various stages of the project cycle.
  • Experience working is fast paced environment to assist in managing multiple work programs and ensuring consistent deliverables.
  • Experience with assisting in developing best practices in tracking and monitoring projects with a focus on continuous quality improvement.
  • This experience is to be considered normally acquired through 6 years to 8 years’ experience.
