As a Heavy Equipment Operator at Blue Ridge, you will be responsible for a variety of heavy construction equipment, including excavators, skid steers, loaders, dozers and compactors.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate heavy equipment in a safe and efficient manger
  • Follow safety guidelines as per Blue Ridge Excavating Ltd.’s Health and Safety Manual
  • Adhere to all applicable regulations and laws
  • Assist with the loading / unloading and proper securement of equipment for transportation
  • Perform minor maintenance and lubrication tasks on assigned trucks and trailers
  • Maintain a clean and safe worksite at all times
  • Perform job site inspections to identify and control potential hazards
  • Complete work at site as per site specific drawings / documents and guidance from Blue Ridge Excavating Ltd site Foreman

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years experience in excavating and backfilling of residential projects
  • Valid driver’s license (copies are required to be kept on file)
  • Candidates must submit a drivers abstract (minimum 5 yrs) with no more than 4 demerits
  • Knowledge and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance on heavy equipment
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
