Job Description

The Account Associate will support SGS Natural Resources services lines in the response to all requests for proposals and quotations. Incumbents must be capable of multi-tasking and working under tight deadlines. The position works closely with internal stakeholders such as Account Executives, Business Directors, Project Managers and Project Coordinators.

Specific Responsibilities
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
1. Reports

Compile data from the master database, CRM, and other spreadsheets to provide data reports, including but not limited to proposals issued vs. accepted, reason lost/won/withdrawn, experiences lists, pipeline reviews. These are required on an ad hoc basis, as requested by Project Managers, Sales Managers, Account Executives, etc. Monthly/Weekly – proposal and project stats for Canada – to be distributed both internally and globally. 

2. Request for Quote and Proposals

Takes inbound calls and web enquiries through a qualification process and assigns to an Account Executive, Business Director, Group Manager, Sales Executive or may on a limited basis responds directly.  Issues RFQ/RFP alert Management of the proposal process from initial enquiry to award and handover to Project Team. Use Machines (or MSWord or MS Excel as required by Proposal Author) to generate proposals /quotations. Writes proposals and sets up proposal writing plans for complex proposals, pulling required information, coordinating inputs from other functional units, and providing other support to the Account Executives in developing the response to the RFP. Reviews all proposals for compliance, spelling, grammar and formatting. Confirms manual quotation calculations. Coordinates the approval process and modifications with the Proposal Author. Coordinates legal reviews. Issues approved quotations to clients. Coordinates handover of secured projects to Project Manager/Project Planner/Project Coordinator. Client required documentation (new vendor forms, prequalification forms, etc.) New customer setup Credit card transactions for metallurgy and consulting Gathering and preparation of client information (including CAPA review) and packages to support the development of a response to an RFP. In cross-selling opportunities across Business Lines, the Account Associate shall collaborate with their counterpart in the other Business Lines for the provision or receipt of necessary cross-business line information for the development of the proposal response. Timely follow-up on quotations/proposals provided (to be coordinated with Account Executive as relevant) Pipeline monitoring

3. Market Analytics

Using various platforms (S&P, Press releases, etc.) collect data on the mining sector (, business information on Junior mining companies, key contacts within these companies, project summaries, market trends, etc.)

4. CRM

Update and maintain CRM database (and LIMS / CCLASS as required) with complete RFQ/RFP information. Records and track leads (conversion/rejection) and opportunities in CRM and proposals issued/win/losses. Completes weekly pipeline and activity reports. Update and maintain client contact list from inbound enquiries in CRM.

5. Marketing Support

Support for marketing activities on an ad hoc basis.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

A college diploma or university degree in Business, Business Administration, Marketing or a related field would be an asset. Previous experience and knowledge of the mining sector or laboratory analytics would be an asset 1 - 3 years of experience in proposals coordination would be an asset Required Skills Specific technical skills: Candidates must be proficient in using various types of computer software (Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Outlook). Proven ability to manage and coordinate multiple projects in a fast-paced, highly. professional environment. Candidates must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills. including grammar and composition. Ability to work well with others and independently. Proven time management skills and a strong attention to detail. Works well under pressure. Strong focus on high quality client service Extended hours may be required from time to time. Travel to other SGS locations may be required from time to time. High level of integrity and work ethic Experience working in a team environment where there is continuous improvement, opportunity for sharing and accepting feedback. Candidate must be confident in leading others through the document development process. as required, and in asserting that proposals meet all prospective client requirements.
