We are looking for a talented Mechanical Millwright Apprentice to join our Maintenance team in Milton, ON .

In this role you will be responsible for the overall safety and effectiveness of your respective shift and communication and collaboration within the production department to secure optimum output from the production unit.

Your future team:

This position reports directly to the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor. This position has no direct reports.

What you will be doing:

To provide Mechanical and Technical support to the production line so production can produce a high-quality finished product at the highest production rate Have trouble shooting and repair skills in mechanical equipment, Safety, Hydraulics, and Pneumatics Operate hoisting and lifting devices such as cranes, jacks and tractors to position machinery and parts during the installation, set-up and repair of machinery Must be able to operate a scissor lift, telescopic boom lift and be able to work at heights safely Must be able to work with all different bearings and systems with troubleshooting and new installs Be able to track belts, change rollers and install mechanical splice Must be able to perform repairs of Fans, Airlocks, Gearboxes, Pneumatic cylinders, Centrifugal, Positive displacement, Gear plus Diaphragm pumps. Have good welding and fabricating skills Work 12-hour continental shifts or as assigned. Maintain a safe and clean work environment Other duties as may be assigned by the Mechanical Maintenance Supervisor from time-to-time

What you bring:

Minimum education requirements as set out by the Apprenticeship Board A College Diploma of related field would be an asset Basic Mechanical Aptitude Test with Perfect Attendance Must be able to work at heights and confined spaces and pass training Must be able to pass Forklift Training and Hold a Class G Driver's License Must follow and pass the Apprenticeship Training On site and In Class Program College training will be Block Release Only - Not Day Release Must Complete Apprenticeship Final Test (C of Q) within 1 year of completing 8000-hour Requirement Must be able to communicate well with all departments and must be a team player Drive, commitment, positive attitude, and high energy & a good understanding of the OHSA Code
