Job Summary:

Engineering Manager (permanent)

Teledyne FLIR is seeking a talented manager to lead the Engineering team, with potential and desire to eventually lead the whole Radars division in Laval, Quebec.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

Planning of R&D activities, milestones and roadmaps, according to the Engineering projects budget and deliverables. Provide leadership in the implementation and maintenance of project management processes, tools and metrics. Assume leadership of engineering coordination meetings to assess and measure projects progress.  Prepare monthly progress reports for projects, including advancement and spending vs plans and other engineering KPIs. Coordinate with Customer Support, Production as well as customers the engineering support tasks required for product delivery and maintain high customer satisfaction. Develop the yearly engineering department budget. Prepare and review project estimates, schedules and forecast. Support technical proposal activities. Develop a strong understanding of the business case and requirements critical to the success of ongoing and new development projects.  Provide leadership and direction to the engineering staff in accordance with Teledyne FLIR Engineering design, quality and compliance processes.

Position Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering and/or Business/Management or closely related disciplines 10+ years engineering or project or business management experience, ideally involving complex hardware and software components. Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail. Strong communication and organizational skills. Robust interpersonal skills with evidence of teamwork and collaboration. Experience in coordinating cross-disciplinary and multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to drive deadlines in a dynamic and fast-moving environment. Proven commitment to quality and continuous improvement. Experience and/or formal training with modern project management tools and methods (e.g. PMP, MBA). Business acumen to help align product development with market needs. Eligible to be certified to examine, possess and transfer items under the Canadian Controlled Goods Program and legally authorized to work in Canada.

Responsable ingénierie (permanent)

FLIR Unmanned Aerial Systems, une filiale de Teledyne FLIR, située dans la grande région de Montréal, est à la recherche de candidats dynamiques et motivés pour combler un poste important en gestion d'ingénierie. Cette installation FLIR ISO 9001 conçoit, fabrique et assure l’entretien de systèmes radar de surveillance de pointe vendus dans le monde entier. Nos systèmes radar sont parmi les plus performants et les plus fiables de l’industrie. Teledyne FLIR est à la recherche d'un gestionnaire talentueux pour diriger l'équipe d'ingénierie, avec le potentiel d'assumer de plus grandes responsabilités pour la division Radars à Laval, Québec.

Tâches et responsabilités principales:

Planification des activités de R&D, des jalons et des feuilles de route, selon le budget et les livrables des projets d'ingénierie. Assurer le leadership dans la mise en œuvre et la maintenance des processus, outils et mesures de gestion de projet. Assumer la direction des réunions de coordination d'ingénierie pour évaluer et mesurer l'avancement des projets. Préparer les rapports mensuels des projets, incluant l'avancement et les dépenses par rapport aux plans et autres KPIs d'ingénierie. Coordonner avec l’équipe soutien clientèle, le groupe de production ainsi qu'avec les clients les tâches de soutien technique requises pour la livraison de produits et le service client. Élaborer le budget annuel du département d'ingénierie. Préparer et analyser les estimations, les calendriers et les prévisions du projet. Coordonner les activités de propositions techniques. Développer une solide compréhension de l'analyse de rentabilité et des requis techniques essentiels au succès des projets de développement. Assurer le leadership et l'orientation du personnel d'ingénierie conformément aux processus de conception, de qualité et de conformité de Teledyne FLIR Engineering.

Qualifications du poste :

Baccalauréat en ingénierie et/ou commerce/gestion ou dans une discipline connexe, MBA est un plus. Plus de 10 ans d'expérience en ingénierie, en gestion de projets ou en gestion d'entreprise, impliquant idéalement des composants matériels et logiciels complexes. Solides compétences analytiques et grande attention aux détails. Solides compétences en communication et en organisation du travail. Solides compétences interpersonnelles avec preuve de travail d'équipe et de collaboration. Expérience dans la coordination simultanée de projets interdisciplinaires. Capacité à respecter les délais dans un environnement dynamique. Engagement envers la qualité et l'amélioration continue. Expérience et/ou formation avec des outils et méthodes modernes de gestion de projet (par exemple PMP). Sens des affaires pour aider à aligner le développement de produits avec les besoins du marché. Admissible à être certifié pour examiner, posséder et transférer des articles dans le cadre du Programme canadien des marchandises contrôlées et légalement autorisé à travailler au Canada.
