We Are Social is on the lookout for a confident, enthusiastic and passionate Account Director to join our team in Toronto. 

 

First and foremost, your role is to understand our client’s ambitions and you can lead programs alongside our internal teams to deliver excellent results for both the client and the agency. You will need to be inquisitive and collaborative in your approach, challenging yourself and our team to find the right solutions to problems or opportunities that arise during each project, on a number of brands whose scope may be both national and global. We’ll expect robust and competent management of the fundamentals as you unpack and manage lines of work, as well as showing flexibility in your approach as we try to find the most creative outcome for each brief. This is a role that gives the opportunity for truly building a capability in a fast growing office, constantly learning, and we’re looking for someone who is willing to drive our work and the team’s output forward with energy and enthusiasm. 

 

Next, you must be someone who loves to build relationships both internally and externally with partners. Within the team you will need to understand each department’s output to plan work and resources to deliver brilliant work for our clients. Externally, you’ll represent the agency as a dynamic, trusted partner both to our client contacts and other collaborators and creators. 

 

For our clients you will be expected to understand the status of multiple projects and communicate this clearly as well as managing and delivering this work with the team. You’ll begin to understand their business & strategy and ensure the work you sit across delivers strong results, on time and within budget. 

 

To deliver all of this we are looking for someone who can prove that they are passionate about opportunities in social and other online communities. You’ll be on top of developments online and how we might incorporate these changes in our work. We want you to be engaged in where our industry is moving, as well as excited by how culture shapes - and is shaped by - the online world to incorporate that passion into what we do.

What does the role involve?

  • Develop, nurture and propel client relationships - act as the internal owner of their businesses - driving their growth as well as the agency’s 
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of the client’s business strategy, objectives & Brands.
  • Support the client with strategic direction of the brand/company as required
  • Lead development of client programs, including project & IMC management
  • Understand where there may be organic opportunities for business development & growth within client’s business; work to create and implement a plan to sell incremental programs and services
  • Responsibility for the portfolio P+L, working closely with your team and finance to maintain a profitable business
  • Ability to build small and large program budgets, that drive business profitability
  • Solid understanding of how the business makes money, where there are gaps that need to be filled, creating and implementing. A plan to support with filling revenue and profit gaps
  • Active involvement in identifying new business opportunities for your clients, bringing them to agency leadership to decide how we move forward.

  • A confident, passionate and enthusiastic Director with 7 - 9 years experience in a creative agency or brand environment working in social.
  • Articulate and able to present confidently to both clients and internal team.
  • A curiosity for the brightest and best in social, and translating this into brilliant creative and editorial executions.
  • Someone obsessed with the internet and how online culture shapes the world around us. 
  • Natural curiosity and understanding of consumer behaviours and mindset in social.
