What you’ll do:
Assist with overseeing regular maintenance, minor repairs and improvements of facilities, including HVAC, refrigeration, plumbing, electrical and general building maintenance. Assist with scheduling and coordinating preventative maintenance programs. Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors. Obtain quotes, source parts and materials, negotiate contracts and monitor the quality of work performed by third party service providers. Assist in the development and management of the facilities budget. Monitor expenses and ensure cost effective operations. Assist the Facilities Manager in establishing the annual work plan for the position and identifying the required facility and system replacements, improvements and enhancements. Manage Third Party Compliance contractors. Eg; Elevator, Fire Systems-alarms. Complete facilities inspections and create a plan of action to repair. Process and code work orders and invoices within Limble system. Manage vehicle service repairs, inspections and winter preparation. Responsible for seasonal maintenance; shovelling, mowing, etc. Follow all of Cornerstone Co-op’s safety procedures. Assist with set up and take down of equipment for events. Demonstrate day-to-day behaviours and actions that align with and strengthen the Co-operative's purpose, values, brand and focus on safety.Why it matters: We need you to lead outstanding Co-op experiences.
Who you are:
You can work independently and troubleshoot maintenance issues. You have 3-5 years’ experience in general maintenance in a commercial, retail or industrial environment. You have hands on maintenance experience. You have knowledge of safety and emergency procedures. You have familiarity with electrical, refrigeration, plumbing, heating, and building maintenance is required. Essential computer skills are required, CMMS program work order tracking and review. Awareness of the need to operate in a food safe environment. You have a valid class 5 driver’s license; a clean drivers abstract is required. Trade certificate in a related field would be an asset. You are comfortable with climbing ladders and operating tools. You’re able to work in extreme weather conditions. You’re able to lift 50lb on a regular basis. You demonstrate effective team leadership skills and can work well within a multigenerational, highly motivated team.
