Dump Truck & Stone Slinger Operator - Nelson BC

POSITION BENEFITS

Monday to Saturday work schedule Wage is $30-34 per hour, depending on experience Overtime pay after 8 hours per day 4% vacation pay

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Haul material from BC Eco aggregate pits to local job sites, loading material from stockpiles to appropriate piles and trucks Maneuver heavy equipment into loading and unloading positions Operate all heavy equipment in a safe and appropriate manner Conduct pre and post trip inspections on equipment operated, ensuring safety, road worthiness and regulatory compliance. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment; clean, lubricate, and refill the equipment as necessary Participate in, accept and adopt the principles described in the company safety program Ensure trucks are left clean and safe at the end of each shift. Additional duties as required

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS

As a member of the BC Eco Industrial Services team, we expect you bring the following to the table:

Class 3 Driver’s Licence Able to successfully pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing 1-2 years of experience operating Stone Slinger Truck and Dump Truck First Aid & WHMIS certificates are considered an asset Acceptable driver’s abstract, based on the Sutherland Group’s abstract review policy Mechanically inclined with knowledge of screening equipment Able to work safely and collaboratively with team members and management in the field in a physically demanding and fast paced work environment. Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions. Capable of performing routine maintenance on equipment such as lubricating, cleaning, etc Ability to lift 50lb Ability to work in extreme weather conditions, confined space and heights and possess the required PPE and steel-toed work shoes.
