Primary Focus

The Cloud Analyst plays a key role in delivering and operationalizing cloud services that support the Information Technology Service department’s goals while advocating for standards-based approaches to the technology challenges our internal partners face.

The successful candidate will configure, administer, and optimize cloud-based solutions with a heavy focus on Microsoft 365 (SharePoint Online, Teams, and Power Platform). These duties include designing new solutions using automation tools, developing integrations both inside and outside of the enterprise, and implementing processes and procedures for the ongoing management and scalability of cloud architecture.

This role also works closely with the server and security analysts to incorporate security management and privacy requirements into everything we do. Experience with Azure, ShareGate, and a demonstrated interest in AI would be considered an asset. Direct Accountabilities

Azure and Microsoft 365 Administration -• Manages and supports the Azure environment including our Microsoft 365 integrated solutions.• Monitors Microsoft Office 365 services health and resolves issues.• Tracks and escalates incidents with Microsoft technical support.• Provides input on the development of training and resources for end-users on O365 capabilities and collaboration tools (OneDrive, Teams, OneNote, Outlook etc.)• Provides training and support and troubleshooting to the ITS, CTLI, and Identified Support teams or people on Office 365 and SharePoint Online.• Troubleshoots various Office 365 issues including connectivity and mobility.• Monitoring compliance and strategy for Microsoft 365 licensing.• Investigate and propose strategies to utilize and implement cloud tools and applications based on defined needs and discovery.• Recommends appropriate Enterprise Content Management solutions based on those requirements (participation in Data Governance/Classification policy development).• Maintains consistent, quality documentation to meet ongoing operations and business continuity requirements.• Participate in the development of policies around the proper use of Office 365 services and support.• Reviews, recommends, and implements service changes to reflect operational needs and changing requirements.

Development and Innovation -• Leads the process for requirement gathering and developing a roadmap for Office 365 andSharePoint Online tools to support institutional priorities.• Develops future strategies for Office 365 products and services and integration with SharePoint Online and Microsoft Teams.• Investigates further implementation of Office 365 and emerging O365 products, leading from a user experience and needs perspective (Including Microsoft Power Automate, Power BI, etc.).• Develops solutions using Microsoft 365 tools to solve or improve business processes and respond to business requirements.• Builds strong internal relationships across multiple departments to ensure the business units technology needs are being met.• Present solutions to both IT and college leadership when requested.• Drives adoption of new capabilities for Office 365 and related tools, services, and systems• Stays abreast of current and evolving enterprise and collaboration technologies.

Indirect Responsibilities

Backup, or as part of the team -• Account and resource monitoring, auditing and life cycle management of accounts and resources associated with our Microsoft 365 environment.• Account access requests and global administration of user accounts and associated permissions.

Reporting Relationships

• Reports to the Manager of Planning and Infrastructure, ITS.• Participates in the Infrastructure team, assisting with shared operational responsibilities when backup is required due to vacations.

Dimensions

• Problem identification and resolution requires diverse knowledge of all supported applications, the interfaces, and impacts on other systems including operating systems, networks, and utilities to determine the sources of problems and identify appropriate resolutions.• Work requires coordination with stakeholders, vendors, and other technical supports.• This position is an Administrative Systems administrator role and as such is privy to private information and has access to sensitive data. Required Qualifications

What you need to be successful

• A technical college or university credential (degree) in Computer Science, Information Technology, or other relevant certifications.• Microsoft 365 (including O365, Exchange, and SharePoint Online) design, build, deployment/migration and administration experience.• Highly developed analytical, problem solving, research, organizational, verbal, and written communication skills.• Strong interpersonal and relationship building skills.• Expertise and experience with complex technical activities.• Ability to make decisions requiring significant analysis and interpretations.• Ability to work independently and within a team to deliver results.• Uses discretion and diplomacy and consults with others as required on highly specialized and sensitive matters.• Team leadership and ability to provide technical guidance to colleagues.• Ability to work in a complex environment with minimal supervision.• Demonstrated ownership, accountability, and pride in their work.
