Job Description

We are currently seeking a talented Transportation Designer for our Arcadis office located in Waterloo, to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the independent production of engineering design drawings for a variety of municipal roadway construction and MTO highway projects. This opportunity allows you to use your design skills on a large-scale reputable transportation project.

Role Accountabilities:

Working independently in conjunction with Project Management staff, develop, co-ordinate and prepare design drawings and graphics for a highway and roadway engineering projects. 
Key responsibilities include:Preparation of engineering designs, design drawings, contract documents and engineering specifications;Analysis of engineering problems and design deficiencies to recommend appropriate design solutions;Preparation of construction cost estimatesAssistance to project managers, engineers, and others on a variety of design teams

Qualifications

A college diploma in Civil Engineering At least 3 years of relevant experience in transportation engineering design Eligibility for registration with OACETT is an asset  Roadway design experience is desirable Working knowledge of MicroStation and InRoads/OpenRoads and/or AutoCAD and Civil 3D Knowledgeable in the application of transportation engineering principles and design standards Excellent technical, analytical, interpersonal and communication skills  Initiative and an ability to work independently as part of a team of design professionals  A commitment to excellence and high quality work with a strong attention to detail and accuracy Strong working knowledge of MS Office
