As the new Senior Director of Marketing, you will sit on a Leadership Team who operate a shared services group to support a growing list of client ventures. You will be responsible for building a bridge from the center of excellence into each of the many international markets and brands that our clients operate.

You will be doing this via influence and indirect means (as each market has local autonomy to operate in their own way). However, you will partner with the regional marketing leaders and marketing vertical leaders to help the brands in a market sensitive & pertinent way.

Each International business unit will have their own marketing team who report to the regional marketing leaders (reporting to you) - thus your influence will be indirect. (YOU WILL NOT DIRECTLY OWN the business unit marketing teams) - You must be experienced, with previous success, inside of a matrix run business with an Internationally complex structure of markets and teams.

The successful candidate will be able to design and grow a robust team of marketing leads equipped to support the entire client portfolio. Design, build, manage and coach a high-performing marketing leads team. Specifically, you will:

• Supporting the regional marketing leader’s development of annual marketing goals, strategies, and activities

• Support the development of reports and presentations on marketing metrics for the cross-functional leadership team

• Assist the teams with market analyses to identify challenges and opportunities for growth

• Provide guidance and ideas to organize effective marketing initiatives

• Develop the team to enable them to build and manage marketing budgets

• Reinforce the importance of defining and maintaining brand standards and ensuring compliance across all channels

• Build long-term relationships with teams, partners, and stakeholders

• Forecast short and long-term hiring and outsourcing needs

The ideal candidate will be based in one of our global agency offices.

You are somebody who has extensive marketing experience and who, ideally, has previously managed teams in different international locations already – and who is comfortable working in this way, across multiple time zones and who thrives in this environment

You have already demonstrated success in your marketing career working inside of a globally matrixed environment, but sat in a head office, and owned international marketing

This is not a flashy campaign development marketing role – it’s about the development of the marketing leaders, best-practices and driving awareness and localizing it within the relevant cultural, operational, and commercial means in each country where the brand has a presence Internationally.

We are looking for a candidate who can bring both strategic thinking and strong, hands-on experience in executing impactful marketing leadership.

What you’ll bring

• 5+ years’ experience as a Marketing Director or higher-level related position, responsible for building and leading diverse teams of marketing and communications professionals

• Substantial ecommerce experience combined with previous experience in a B2C digitally-focused company

• Broad exposure in marketing (i.e. Social and Content, CRM, brand, content, SEO)

• Thrives in a high growth, entrepreneurial, and ambiguous environment

• Strong administrative, organizational, managerial and communication skills.

• Ability to lead through informal authority

• Executive level presence - both written and verbal.
