We are looking for an Application Architect to help grow our business and contribute to our future.

Reporting to the Director, IT, the Application Architect is responsible to provide application architecture and designs. The right candidate will have a working knowledge of C# and Microsoft products. They will participate in defining useable application architectures, within the framework laid down by the collective enterprise architecture team, for business initiatives and current solutions architecture. In partnership with the Information Technology team, the Application Architect will provide oversight in the design and delivery of high quality, scalable and cost-effective technical solutions and will participate in due diligence services in support of corporate activities.

What you’ll do:

Handle various projects across multiple departments with respect to application architecture.Act as an application technology leader and subject matter expertContribute to the design of the enterprise IT Landscape for applications and the connection with business processAssist project teams to identify the required application architecture that conforms to the overall solution architectureProvide overviews and recommendations of application changes that may require modifications to the current enterprise architecture specificationsProvide awareness of application development trends and provides direction in determining their potential impact on the current or future applications at ESCAnalyze and troubleshoot application related issues in a timely fashionResponsible for the development and maintenance of application architecture documents, functional specifications, design documents, and architecture diagrams in partnership with relevant teamsResponsible for maintenance of ESC’s application inventoryAssist in yearly application posture assessments with both the technical and business teams

Knowledge & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology (or related field), or equivalent experienceSeven (7) years of experience in Microsoft development technologies; of which two (2) years of experience have been in Application Architecture, in a multitier environmentKnowledge of the application architecture discipline and an understanding of how it fits into the Enterprise Architecture vision and frameworksExposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environmentsExceptional interpersonal skills, including teamwork, facilitation and negotiationFamiliarity with basic graphical modeling approaches, tools and model repositoriesAbility to provide short-term implications of individual decisions and then identify this to stakeholdersAbility to translate business needs into application requirementsAbility to estimate the financial impact of application alternativesAbility to apply multiple approaches to business problemsAbility to handle multiple projects, be innovative, and able to identify their deliverablesAbility to communicate effectively across multiple departments and in varying degrees of technical detailAbility to rapidly comprehend the functions and capabilities of new technologies and in particularly to identify the impact on the ISC enterprise in relation to the ISC strategic vision.
