The Opportunity:

TheSecurity Guard will report directly to the Manager, Emergency Preparednessand Security and be responsible for ensuring a healthy and safe environment forthe hospital staff, patients, volunteers, physicians and visitors.

Qualifications:

Graduate of a CommunityCollege Law and Security Program, or graduate of a recognized Emergency Services training facility, and/or 3-5 years Security experience in a Healthcare Facility Current certificationwith Private Investigator’s and Security Act (Bill 159 legislation) Three years of previous experience in dealingwith the general public in a law and/or security role – preferred Current use of forceand/or non-violent crisis intervention training an asset. Must strive tocontinuously provide a safe and supportive environment for patients, staff,physicians, and volunteers Excellent customerservice demeanour  Ability to accuratelyperform the duties of the role with a focused attention to detail Physically able toperform the essential duties of the role Excellentattendance/performance record Committed toprofessional growth & development Committed tomaintaining confidentiality Must adhere to theduties of workers, as stipulated in the Occupational Health and Safety Act Must have an ability toeffectively communicate (written and verbal) in the English language in order to provideexcellent communication with team members, patients and families. Ability to communicate inadditional language(s) is considered an asset.
