Controls Specialist

Engineered Air’s integrated sales, design, and manufacturing groups enable the company to produce equipment that is designed to fit a specific project’s requirements.

Engineered Air is seeking a dynamic, results-oriented individual to fill the role of Controls Specialist working out of our Calgary Location. The Controls Specialist will work collaboratively as part of the Research and Development department. This individual will work with the Production and Service groups in a crucial role in the design, implementation, programming, and maintenance of a proprietary control system.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Uphold the policies and procedures of the Company as set by Senior Management. Provide training to Design, Special Pricing, Service, and Production on the operation and theory of the control system. Work with Production and Service, including testing and troubleshooting any issues in the controls system. Work with Design and Special Pricing to ensure functionality is accurate and correct. Deliver timely and accurate technical information to Production and Service. Develop, maintain, and implement programs for HVAC equipment. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation including schematics, manuals, and troubleshooting guides. Provide suggestions for improvement to the Research and Development Manager. Maintain a level of composure and act professionally in interactions with all employees. Utilize economic sense when reviewing potential changes or solutions. Participate in the Health and Safety Program and Quality Management Program Ability to attend and conduct presentations and open to travel for business purposes as required.

QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control Systems Engineering, or a related field. A minimum of 3 years of direct work experience. Proficiency in PLC programming with knowledge of Continuous Function Charts, Structural Text, and Function Block Diagram languages.

SKILLS REQUIRED

Strong knowledge of industrial communications protocols (i e. BACnet, Modbus). Effective written and verbal communication skills. Passionate self-motivated individual with the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Effective presentation skills. Must be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously with a demonstrated ability to excel in a fast-paced environment. Demonstrated effective deadline management and project management skills. Effective interpersonal skills required to communicate with a broad range of individuals. Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
