Position Rationale:
The Senior Quality Technician (South Contract Maintenance Areas) is a knowledgeable and experienced leader responsible for coordinating the Quality Management Program (QMP). This key position ensures the delivery of the ISO 9001 Quality Management System (QMS) according to contractual specifications, standards, industry regulations, and legal requirements. The role involves providing ongoing oversight of contractual reporting requirements within the Contract Maintenance Areas (CMA) and offering guidance and leadership to Quality Technicians.
Position Accountabilities:
Advise on the Contract Maintenance Area (CMA) Visual Intervention Guidelines and contract-specified Performance Measures (PMs). Monitor PMs, reporting deficiencies, potential deficiencies, and non-compliant work activities to direct supervisor and operational supervisors. Compile contract-specified reports per Data Collection and Reporting requirements. Verify external licensed QC laboratories or testing facilities meet the Province of Alberta QC requirements. Assist in maintaining ISO 9001 Quality Requirements and Internal Auditor certification.Training:
Facilitate employee training on ISO 9001:2015 Quality Management Systems. Identify relevant QA training needs and opportunities. Assist in maintaining QA monitoring programs, including audits, controls, and other qualifiers. Promote quality achievement and performance improvement across the organization. Ensure compliance with local, national, and international standards and legislation.Work Management System:
Monitor accuracy of information outputs and suggest improvements. Analyze data to identify areas for Quality System improvement. Foster a positive and productive work environment, encouraging continuous improvement and professional growth. Coordinate and delegate tasks effectively to ensure timely completion of quality-related activities.Customer Service:
Understand stakeholder groups interacting with the organization. Demonstrate a problem-solving approach to inquiries and concerns. Know when to escalate issues for immediate response. Present and promote a positive and professional organizational image.Working Environments/Conditions:
Regular collaboration with internal departments Communication via telephone, e-mail, and in-person discussions (drafting emails, letters, and memos). Travel for onsite visits, meetings, etc. is required. ,

Qualifications & Experience
High School (High school diploma) Experience in quality management, particularly in highway maintenance or a related field. Leadership and team coordination skills. Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Detail-oriented with strong analytical skills.Technical Skills:
ISO 9001:2015 certification or strong understanding of 9001:2015 requirements. Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, TEAMS & Forms). Knowledge of SharePoint software.
