Duties:

Maintain all aspects of the tool room for the Automotive Service Technician Program including receiving, maintaining and issuing tools, equipment and supplies. Repair and arrange for repair of tools, equipment and diagnostic equipment. Under the direction of the instructor, supervise repairs performed by students. Liaise with instructors and customers to schedule vehicles for repairs and monitor repair process. Determine requirements, ensure availability of parts and meet with suppliers and manufacturers' representatives. Maintain material safety data sheets. Implement and maintain proper safety standards by demonstrating and ensuring students follow safe use of tools and equipment. Other duties as required.

Required Qualifications:

Grade 12 or equivalent plus Automotive Service Technician Red Seal endorsement. Working knowledge of safety standards including WorkSafeBC regulations. Three to five years recent relevant experience. Experience in maintaining tools, equipment and supplies. Familiarity with service manuals and computer-based service information systems. Some bookkeeping and organizational skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to successfully resolve conflict. Demonstrated computer literacy. 
 
Must possess a valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and have a confirmed satisfactory driving record

Preferred Qualifications:

Demonstrated ability to work in and maintain an Automotive Service Technician tool room. Supervisory skills, conflict resolution and budget management courses. Valid WCB Occupational First Aid Level II Certification.
