Since 1973, The Roberts/Smart Centre has been providing treatment to youth from across Ontario dealing with complex mental health and behavioural challenges in a welcoming, supportive, and safe environment. Roberts/Smart Centre operates four treatment facilities for youth that require 24-hour support. They include two open Live-in facilities in homes in residential neighbourhoods, a Secure Treatment facility and a Reintegration facility. Located in Ottawa, these programs welcomed youth and worked with communities from across Ontario.Roberts/Smart Centre is dedicated to continuous improvement, ensuring their approaches reflect the latest knowledge about effective treatment of high-needs youth.

The Executive Director will guide the organization forward, enhancing its visibility and influence, and optimizing the services it delivers for the betterment of the communities it serves. In collaboration with the Board of Directors, the new Executive Director will spearhead the development and augmentation of programmatic capabilities, crafting a visionary strategy to navigate RSC through a dynamic demographic and policy landscape. Concurrently, they will engage with funders and community partners to ensure the prompt delivery of evidence-based treatment to those in need. The ED will also cultivate influential networks with provincial funders and local community partners, fostering the growth of programmatic ability among RSC staff to sustain the centre’s visibility and long-term viability.

As the future Executive Director, you will be a not-for-profit leader with significant experience in the health and social services sector, demonstrating your ability to collaborate with both a Board of Directors and government funders. Your collaborative and creative approach is underlined by a successful track record in cultivating strong, mutually beneficial relationships across various key stakeholders. Recognized for building cohesive teams working collaboratively to ensure the effective delivery of programs and services, you clearly articulate and steer the center’s vision, strategy, and execution of programs, services, and operations. You will leverage your operational and organizational acumen to maximize efficiency, employee engagement, and client satisfaction while operating in a high-demand environment with limited resources. Your passion and commitment to youth mental health and well-being, positions you as an advocate of system partnerships to drive critical youth initiatives forward. Valuing staff, you are dedicated to fostering strong, cohesive, and supportive environments, acting as a champion of diversity, equity, and inclusion both internally and externally.
