Park Caretaker

The Opportunity:

The City of Red Deer is currently recruiting for a ParkCaretaker – Infrastructure & Waskasoo Park Services to fill a seasonal position. The Park Caretaker will provide a clean, safeand secure environment for users by performing required maintenance of assignedfacilities, controlling patrons by way of presence, and ensuring facilityreadiness according to established standards.

As our preferred candidate, youwill have:

Grade 12, or equivalent. Six months of experience in building maintenance orrelated activities, preferably involving public contact or equivalent. Completion of Emergency First Aid and Heart SaverCourse. Ability to perform routine carpentry, painting,mechanical, electrical, plumbing and general “handyman” duties, and to operateand use various hand and power tools and equipment. Valid Alberta Driver’s License. Ability to work independently without supervision. Ability to accurately complete reports. Ability to respond courteously to public complaintsand to calm troublemakers firmly and tactfully. Ability to exert moderate physical effort (eg. Movingequipment, cleaning and maintenance). Ability to perform shift work. Ability to work outdoors in the spring, summer andfall season.

Remuneration:

$26.36 to $27.91 per hour

Hours of Work:

64hours biweekly as scheduled; weekdays, evenings,weekends, and statutory holidays. Shifts will vary, some weeks may be morehours due to statutory holiday coverage.
