General Machinist

Position Overview:

We are hiring a General Machinist who will be responsible for setting up and operating Machine Shop equipment. The candidate must have a good work ethic and a positive attitude, with the ability to work to tight deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Read and interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, charts and tables or study sample parts to determine machining operation to be performed, and plan best sequence of operations Compute dimensions and tolerances and measure and lay out work pieces Set up, operate, and maintain a variety of machine tools to perform precision, non-repetitive machining operations such as sawing, turning, milling, boring, planning, drilling, precision grinding and other operations Fit and assemble machined metal parts and subassemblies using hand and power tools Verify dimensions of products for accuracy and conformance to specifications using precision measuring instruments May set up and program machine tools for use by machining tool operators. Ensure that the customer’s requirements, which include project timing part quality and delivery are understood and met Be responsible for all parameters of assigned tasks Ensure the shop environment is kept safe, clean, and organized to enable timely and safe manufacturing techniques Communicate project and other details to the supervisor Follow all documented quality procedures Observe all company safety rules, polices and procedures

Education and Experience:

High school diploma or equivalent is required.

3+ years of machine shop experience  Knowledge of translation techniques of all CAD data to Cadkey Must have solid background in GD&T
