Senior Manager Actuarial

In this role, you will: Champion a customer focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge Be an actuarial Function lead and actuarial IFRS17 lead; responsibilities include: Monthly running of New Business onerosity testing and complete the writeback process Monthly running of the IFRS17 valuation models Maintaining the IFRS17 models and develop enhancements as needed Conduct annual Experience Studies and Assumption updates Ownership of the Bulk accounting process Review Financial results from Risk Integrity for reasonableness Support IFRS17 reporting process by collaborating with various functions of the company including optimizing roles and responsibilities with IT and Finance divisions Take ownership of capital calculations including LICAT calculations, EWST and dividend recommendations Package financial reporting and work with external Appointed Actuary Support Actuarial Pricing staff as it relates to IFRS17 Assist senior management with data analysis for business insights Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions Actively pursues effective and efficient operations of the respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk Champion a high-performance environment and contributes to an inclusive work environment Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed in this role?
