Job Description

Techo-Bloc’s Purchasing Coordinator (Buyer) procures the goods and services for our manufacturing plant based in Chambly, Quebec. This individual will interface with vendors to manage quotation requests, place orders and ensure the timely delivery of product to our Techo-Bloc sites. Working closely with the Production and Maintenance teams, the Buyer is responsible to handle all purchasing requirements through our ERP system. This role requires a high level of detail, organization and willingness to go above and beyond to deliver the best value to Techo-Bloc from our vendors. Here is a snapshot of your day-to-day:

  • Serves as the primary liaison between our vendors and Techo-Bloc to identify, select and purchase products.
  • Advises internal and external stakeholders on projects related to area of expertise.
  • Completes purchase orders (P.O), purchase requisitions and manages requests generated by the ERP system.
  • Tracks orders to ensure delivery on schedule, while communicating updates or potential delays to stakeholders.
  • Ensures the conformity of our purchasing process by highlighting quality and price ratio in conjunction with contract negotiation.
  • Partners with accounting team to handle billing issues.
  • Assists with supplier and cost evaluation of new materials.
  • Support various Techo-Bloc departments (operations, distribution, accounting, etc) to coordinate procurement needs and materials.
  • Communicates supply issues and answers questions, as needed.
  • Assist purchasing team with reporting, data analysis, documentation and any other relevant requests.
  • Participates in developing tools to augment procurement functions, reporting and tracking.

Qualifications

  • 1+ years’ experience in a purchasing, buying or similar role.
  • 1+ years’ vendor relations and contract negotiation.
  • Previous experience with purchasing orders and/or billing.
  • Experience working within an ERP system (SAP or Microsoft AX is preferred).
  • Strong computer proficiency (Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, etc)
