Payroll Specialist

Reporting to the Sr. Payroll Specialist, the Payroll Specialist is responsible for the full cycle payroll processing for 1200+ employees and for responding to payroll inquiries, interpreting and applying payroll rules and regulations, and implementing best practices.

Job Responsibilities

Support the entire payroll process for a multijurisdictional payroll. Ensure compliance with federal and provincial regulations regarding payroll taxes, deductions, and reporting. Liaise with other departments, employees, and managers to resolve payroll issues. Assist in the development and implement company payroll policies and procedures. Maintain knowledge of all regulations, employment laws and other requirements for the execution of payroll

Qualifications

PCP (Payroll Compliance Practitioner) Certification 4+ years of experience in a similar role Strong understanding of payroll principles, practices, and regulations (T4’s, ROE’s EHT, PIER etc.) Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills Confident user of the Microsoft Office Suite of products and familiar with payroll software
