As a Senior Expeditor, you will support projects that span multiple disciplines within our organization in order to deliver high quality and sustainable solutions to our clients.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the procurement function by coordinating project materials, expediting, and tracking all aspects/deliverables such as equipment/material required for completion of purchase orders, contracts, or projects.
  • Process material requisitions, material receipts, and material transfers.
  • Maintaining schedule and milestones for procurement deliverables.
  • Work closely with other disciplines to coordinate for timely submission and return of vendor drawings and documents.
  • Support and manage assigned equipment/material to ensure on-time readiness and delivery to the site in line with the project and construction schedule.
  • Support and assist with the management of all associated vendor equipment/material documentation between the vendor, Engineering (or Engineering Consultant) and internal Project teams to ensure prompt review & approval periods.
  • Status review of vendor fabrication schedules, Inspection and Test Plans (if applicable), Inspection Reports, and other pertinent vendor and PO data to mitigate any delays.
  • Develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with critical client representatives and vendors to ensure all procurement activities have been addressed and covered off.
  • Ensure departmental and corporate policies, procedures, systems, and work instructions are adhered to.
  • Communicate equipment/material delays and schedule conflicts with key stakeholders.
  • Expeditor shop visits.
  • Arrange shop visits to the Supplier’s (or sub-suppliers) facility for the PMT/Client, as required.
  • Attend, organize, or chair post-award kick-off meetings. Prepare meeting agenda and meeting minutes.
  • Coordinate third-party inspections. Direct point of contact with inspectors. Receive, review, action on (if necessary) and distribute inspection reports.
  • To ensure accurate and up-to-date Project Reporting, the Expeditor is responsible for the update of Procurement and Document Control tracking systems in real time such that the most recent data is reported.            
  • Logistics coordination.
  • Coordinate and attend all post-award meetings with suppliers as needed.
  • Advise the Discipline Engineer (DE) or PE of any technical issues that may arise during the progress of the PO.  Communicate a timely resolution of such issues to the Supplier.
  • Maintain communication with the Buyer throughout the course of the PO.  Ensure that any commercial issues that arise are duly addressed by the Project Management Team and Buyer.
  • Verify and authorize for approval all progress payment milestones, where applicable.
  • Key communicator with the Supplier post-PO award.  Maintain accurate written copies of all correspondence pertaining to the PO.
  • Attend weekly and/or bi-weekly project meetings. Provide equipment updates.

Position Requirements:

  • 7+ years of experience in all phases of materials management in chemical, oil and gas, EPC or other industrial environment.
  • Experience in process development and implementation.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving skills, along with the ability to prioritize work and to work effectively with minimal supervision.
  • Strong communication and writing skills.
  • Detailed orientated.
  • Good stress management skills.
  • Ability to handle numerous demands to meet project multiple deliverables.
  • Strong relationship management and negotiation skills.
  • Experience with fabrication shops and a good understanding of fabrication processes.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Exposure to and a strong understanding of inspection requirements.
