Description

The Trailer Mechanic inspects, maintains, diagnoses, and repairs linehaul and other trailers to meet manufacturer and Purolator standards.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct vehicle inspections for preventative maintenance
  • Back trailers into and out of the garage / yard
  • Inspect, maintain, diagnose, and repair trailers to meet manufacturer and Purolator standards
  • Completes Electronic Driver Vehicle Inspection Reports (EDVIR) using computer applications
  • Identified issues are resolved and the vehicles re-inspected
  • Conducts unplanned repairs in the yard when trailers malfunctions such that they cannot be moved to shop
Experience
  • Truck Trailer Service Technician (310J) license or Truck & Coach Technicians (310T) license 
  • 2 years' experience with diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining automotive trailers
  • In Quebec, Mechanic diploma/certification is required with a valid Programme D’Entretien Preventif (PEP) card.
  • Valid “G” Class driver’s license with a clear driver’s abstract that meets Purolator’s insurance requirements.
